Taking place in Togo in early 2019, the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) Regional Conference Africa 2019 has been organized to draw attention to the key role ecosystems play in the economy, human well-being, and culture of (Sub-Saharan) Africa.

Despite the many benefits ecosystem services offer, the ecosystems providing them face many threats - thereby affecting the livelihoods and resilience of local communities. In order to explore and offer potential solutions to these threats, the conference theme for 2019 is 'Management of Ecosystem Services for Nature Conservation and Human Well-Being in Africa.'

The conference is open to everyone interested in the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of ecosystem services in Africa and its association with human well-being.

Session submissions are now invited in line with the conference's theme. The mountain research community is therefore encouraged to submit proposals for sessions related to mountain ecosystems by the submission deadline of 15 September 2018.

The conference will take place in Kpalimé, Togo, 4-8 February 2019.

More information can be found on the conference website.
