Two grant programmes for early-career researchers wishing to attend the 2018 World Social Science Forum have been announced.
The World Social Science Forum (WSSF) aims to provide a platform for researchers, funders, policymakers, and other stakeholders to debate topics of global significance and to determine future priorities for international social science. Under the theme 'Security and Equality for Sustainable Futures,' this year the WSSF will take place 25-28 September in Fukuoka, Japan.
- WSSF Scholarship for Early-Career Social Scientists from Low- or Lower-Middle Income Countries.
Thia grant will cover travel, accommodation, food, and registration for successful applicants. - WSSF Fukuoka Student Award.
This award is designed to help students gain international experience and to be exposed to a variety of research fields, methods, and discussions. It will provide financial support of a maximum of JPY 100,000 per successful applicant. This award is limited to graduate students who are presenting either an oral or a poster presentation as a primary author.
A call for individual abstracts for posters and for participation in specific panels or topical sessions is also now open.
The deadline for both abstract submissions and applications for scholarships is 17 March 2018.
