Icown June 2018, the Free University of Bolzano and Eurac Research Center will hold a symposium in Italy exclusively focused on the topic of mountain livestock farming. Abstract submissions are now invited from researchers across Europe. 

The 1st European Symposium on Livestock Farming in Mountain Areas will be held in Bozen-Bolzano in South Tyrol, Italy, 20-22 June 2018. This event aims to cover a broad range of topics related to livestock farming in mountain areas, including animal husbandry and breeding, agricultural economics, landscape conservation, and social sciences related to mountain livestock. Research contributions from all relevant disciplines are welcome.

Gathering experts from different regions across Europe, the symposium is expected to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and promote innovation. Its program will based around keynote speakers and poster presentations, complemented by field trips to local farms and industry sites. It is organized in collaboration with the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), Fibl Switzerland, and the University of Padova. 

Researchers across Europe are invited to submit their abstracts by 28 February 2018
