The Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) has launched a survey to check in with the global mountain research community and better understand how the MRI is doing from your perspective.

As a network built by and for its community, the MRI depends on the insights, experiences, and ideas of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and partners working across mountain regions worldwide. This survey is an opportunity to reflect on the MRI’s role, activities, and priorities, and to help guide where the network goes next.

The survey explores topics such as the MRI’s overall value as a global research network, progress toward its strategic objectives, the effectiveness of coordination and communication efforts, and the relevance of flagship activities and working groups. It also looks ahead, inviting participants to share what success for the MRI should look like in the coming years.

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. All responses will be used in aggregate to inform future planning, priorities, and activities.

This is your chance to help shape the MRI’s future work and ensure it continues to serve the evolving needs of the mountain research community.

The MRI is its community. We invite you to share your perspective and be part of shaping what comes next.

Deadline for survey responses is 31 March 2026.
