Takeaway Messages for the Americas / December, 2022
The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), a Conéctate A+ associate partner organisation, has organized three Post-COP27 webinars for the Americas. The goal of the sessions is to discuss among scientists, government representatives, journalists, and civil society, among others, the takeaway messages and the challenges and opportunities offered by COP27 to the Americas.

Side Event #2 - Climate change adaptation financing for the Americas

This session will convene government officials at the forefront of climate change negotiations in the Americas. The discussion will provide an overview of the financial needs and opportunities for adaptation from the perspective of governments, focusing on how climate change impacts the region and how climate finance can enhance adaptation and mitigation strategies.
#Side Event 3: IPCC AR7 - The role of the IPCC in science-policy processes

This session will focus on providing information governments need to know to nominate authors and take part in the discussions, so that they can better understand how the IPCC engages in science-policy processes and the importance of addressing underrepresentation in IPCC authors (by region and gender)
