The project “Promoting sustainable development through UNESCO’s programmes and sites” aims to promote a more sustainable and climate-neutral Europe by working through research and education with the goal of developing innovative solutions to environmental problems in selected UNESCO sites. Projects submitted should seek three outcomes 1) the promotion of scientific research activities in the fields of biodiversity, water, earth sciences, ocean, climate change and disasters related to UNESCO priorities; 2) the promotion of education for sustainable development, water education and ocean literacy; 3) innovative solutions at the site level, involving key stakeholders such as local businesses, NGOs and youth. Five UNESCO sites will be selected and each will receive up to a total of 25,000 USD. Application submissions have been extended to 9 May 2024 at 23:59 CET.
