Ana OchoaAna Elizabeth Ochoa Sánchez (Ecuador) is a Doctoral Candidate in Water Resources, at the University of Cuenca. She is working on the controls, partitioning, measurements, and estimations of evapotranspiration in high Andean grasslands. Since 2012, she has been a researcher at the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Cuenca. In 2012, she obtained her MSc in Water Resources Engineering from KULeuven and VUB, Belgium, and graduated in Civil Engineering (University of Cuenca, Ecuador) in 2009.

Ana has worked mainly on dynamical downscaling methods and ecohydrological processes, and her area of interest is the páramo environment that provides ecosystem services for large cities in Ecuador and Peru. Her wider research interests include climate change, ecohydrology, meteorology, and climatology.

Ana was selected from almost 100 candidates for our Mentoring and Training Program in IPCC Processes for Early Career Mountain Researchers, a joint initiative between the MRI, University of Zurich, Helvetas, and ICIMOD, supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
