This annual training programme on sustainable mountain development is jointly organized by the Mountain Partnership Secretariat at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the University of Turin, Italy, and the University of Tuscia, Italy, with the high patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The theme of this year’s IPROMO summer school will be “Promoting agrifood systems and mountain products”. The course aims to provide an overview of sustainable mountain development, identify specific challenges and opportunities within resilient and sustainable agrifood systems, and explore strategies to better promote mountain products. The course will run from 24 June – 9 July 2024 in Ormea (northwestern Italy), featuring lectures, practical work, and excursions. About 30 professionals will be admitted, with preference given to participants from Mountain Partnership member countries and organizations.

Audience

The course is geared towards technical officers involved in sustainable mountain development. Applicants should have a university degree preferably in technical areas such as agriculture, forestry, biology, geology, or geography, along with relevant work experience. Proficiency in English and a high level of adaptability are required.

Interested individuals can apply online by submitting their curriculum vitae in Word or PDF format. Accommodation, meals, and field trips are covered, with a limited number of fellowships available for international flights.
