Under the theme 'From Science to Action', the third World Biodiversity Forum (WBF) brings together researchers across all disciplines of biodiversity science with practitioners and societal actors to explore how to move from science to actions and solutions, to conserve biodiversity and set us on a path towards transformation for sustainability.
The World Biodiversity Forum 2024 responds to the call for urgent and transformative action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss through making connections across available knowledge sources, identifying opportunities, synergies, but also trade-offs that can inform policies and actions. It will further develop narratives, pathways, and visions of sustainable futures and highlight avenues to achieve change.
The third World Biodiversity Forum WBF will be held as an in-person event, from 16-20 June 2024 at the Congress Centre in Davos, Switzerland. The WBF will be preceded by a day of workshops, training sessions, and networking meetings on 16 June 2024, followed by excursions in the beautiful surroundings of Davos and its mountains on Friday 21 June 2024.
Call for Abstracts
There will be four days of parallel sessions with oral and poster presentations. WBF2024 features 64 different sessions, for which you can submit an abstract. Find your favourite session in the session descriptions, and read the points below before submitting your abstract. Detailed instructions are also available in the Abstract Submission Guidelines. The abstract submission deadline is on 19 November 2023, 6pm CET. You may submit two abstracts in total, however, only one of them may be for an oral presentation. The abstract title is limited to 80 characters, and the abstract text is limited to 1,500 characters. Accepted abstracts will be included in the conference programme and published, once at least one author of the relevant abstract has registered.
