REMINDER: Special Issue of Remote Sensing on Mountain Remote Sensing

mountain range 984303 640Remote Sensing, an open access journal about the science and application of remote sensing technology, is inviting submissions for a special issue focused on mountains.

Through the Mountain Remote Sensing special issue, guest editors Dr. Marc Zebisch and Dr. Claudia Notarnicola aim to provide an overview of state-of-the-art remote sensing methodologies and their application in mountain regions, and demonstrate how remote sensing can contribute to an improved understanding of environmental dynamics in mountains. The latest developments in remote sensing, such as the use of dense time-series of high resolution data, the combination of sensors (optical and SAR, multi-resolution), as well as the integration of satellite data with in-situ networks should also be highlighted.

Submissions are invited on the following topics:

  • Remote sensing of cryosphere and the water cycle in mountains
  • Remote sensing of natural hazards in mountains
  • Remote sensing of vegetation and land-cover dynamics in mountains.
  • Remote sensing methodologies for mountains

Submission deadline is 31st August 2018.
